Distinctive Unit Insignia


Description/Blazon
A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height consisting of a shield blazoned: Or, four chevronels interlaced Gules and in chief a like number of fusils conjoined in fess Azure. Attached below and to the sides of the shield a Gold scroll inscribed "EVER READY SUPPORT" in Black letters.

Symbolism
The colors for Support units are scarlet and buff (yellow is substituted for buff). The four chevronels interlaced allude to the Battalion's mission of support: providing separate brigade level supply, field maintenance, medical service and miscellaneous services for all elements of the Brigade. The four blue fusils above represent the separate Infantry Brigade which receives the services of the Battalion.

Background
The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 5 December 1967.
